Emergency department
-emergency is a hospital or primary care department specialised in acute care
-its for patients without prior appointment
-must provide treatment for a large spectrum of ilnesses and injuries
-the are usually few doctors and nurses, for specialised doctors have to call
-operate 24 hours a day
-in CR you have to pay 90 Crowns first in the reception or in the automat and show the doctor confirmation about the payment or you wont be treat
– order of patients depends on the severity of causes
-you can go there by yourself or by an ambulancy car ( old people, people without a car, car accidents, serious injuries)
Examples:
- broken bone ( They have to do a X-ray shot, straight the bone and fix it by gypsum)
- hard stomach pain ( it can be gastric ulcers-when it pops you can die, appendicitis,..)
- very high temperatures ( sign of inflammation, dangerous for kids)
- heart attack ( pains at left arm, sternum or neck, you cant breathe)
- concussion ( you fell on your head and you have amnesia or headache, vomiting)
