The Arctic ice is melting very fast. By the year 2040 the region will have totally ice-free summers. Almost everyone has heard of the term global warming. Is this problem as big as everyone describes it? Definitely yes. Global warming is the slow and long-term rise of temperature on our planet Earth.
To solve this problem people should have proper knowledge of global warming. We have to understand deeply what is it, what it can cause and what it actually causes nowadays. The continuous rise of temperature could be very harmful for every single living being.
Why is global warming actually happening? There are two main causes. The first is the burning fossil fuels like oil, gas or coal. We burn fossil fuels in order to power our cars and to have electricity. The problem is that, when we burn them, we release Co2 into our atmosphere, resulting in air pollution. One of the biggest producers of Co2 is Australia. Almost 86 percent of their electricity comes from burning fossil fuels.
The solution to this problem is quite simple. We have to invest more money into renewable sources of energy and reduce the amount of energy generated from oil and gas.
The second largest cause is deforestation. Forests are very important because they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Unfortunately, humans’ clear big areas of vegetation because of farming, infrastructure and etc. This leeds to the fact that one fifth of global greenhouse gas pollution comes from deforestation and forest degradation.
To prevent this, we have to plant more trees and governments across the whole world should forbid tree clearing.
My conclusion is simple. Planet Earth is our one and only home. We must literally fight for it. There are 7 billion of us, and we have more power than we think. I believe that this topic is becoming more and more visible and governments of all countries will no longer be able to ignore it.
