Dances With Wolves – Western movie that attract even the lovers of modern genres
Dances with wolves is 25 years old western movie directed by Kevin Costner based on the book written by Michael Blake. It has very nice soundtrack composed by John Barry. In the main role stars the director Kevin Costner, also stars Marry McDonnell, Graham Greene, Rodney A. Grant. It was produced again by Kevin Costner and by Jim Wilson. This movie was very successful and it won a lot of awards.
The story takes place in the US in the sixties of the last century, the main character is lieutenant Dunbar. He left army and settled in a Fort Sedgewick. Then he met Sioux, which is an Indian tribe. Dunbar learned their language, habits and he just accept their lifestyle.
Thing I like the most about this movie is its nature, it really looks like that a random man with a camera just went there and filmed these people. It doesn’t look like that people behave according to some scenarios but according to themselves. I also liked the costumes which appeared very realistic as well as the rest of props used there.
As I’m thinking about it, I don’t know any cons of this film. I’ve already said it – it has nice soundtrack, even more nicer scenery where it was filmed and it’s just a brilliantly made film. The only one thing I can think of as a negative one, is that a lot of people don’t really like western genre, but it actually is not a con of the film.
Overall I would recommend this movie to everyone, because even if I’m not a big fan of the western genre (actually I’m not a fan of this genre at all), I truly enjoyed watching Dances with Wolves. Moreover I appreciate that thanks to this movie I can imagine how native people’s life would look like.
