Distant learning
This year has been very difficult for all of us. Many people have lost their jobs, restaurants and stores are closed and we can’t even spend time with our friends. But one of the biggest problems is that schools are closed too, so we have to learn from home.
In spring, when the schools closed for the first time, I was happy about it. The main advantage of distant learning is that I don’t have to wake up every day at 6am, because I really hate when I can´t sleep as long as I want to. Another advantage is the fact that it’s just up to me when and where I do my homework, for example if I decide to write a maths test during lunch, it’s not a problem. In addition, our marks are much better than they would be if we were going to school, because we can look up answers on the internet.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages too. Honestly, I think that I won’t be ready for the final exam as well as if I was going to school in person. Furthermore, as I mentioned in the introduction, we can’t spend time with our classmates.
To sum up, distant learning brings us many benefits, but the disadvantages are more important – we are losing a lot of new knowledge and social contacts and because of that, I hope that we will be able to return to school as soon as possible.
