The furniture made hundred years ago
- The furniture was usually made from wood so the colours were natural in shades of brown or beige.
- There were complex shapes and decor, for example the turned legs or some animal or vegetal decor.
- The Marquetry was widely used
- The furniture was usually hand – made, so the price was higher than now.
The current furniture
- In the present the furniture is made from modern materials like chipboards, plastic materials or metal, the wood is still expensive material.
- The decor became more simple (or sometimes there‘s even no decor) and with the new materials there is an oppurnity to have a furniture with various colors and shapes.
- The production is mostly machinery, so the price is lower.
Interior in the present
- The interiors in the present are usually fresh.
- It‘s a lot about the function.
- There is not so much of furniture like before, the interiors are made mainly according to rules about funktionality.
- There is a lot of colors and the interior isn‘t boring.
